I am on SAP 4.7, 6.20 HP UX Oracle. When we

complete our weekly offline backup, application is

not coming up and the system goes down. Which

log will give some input as to what is wrong with

the system?

A: Start with the alert log.

It is usually found in

oracle/SID/saptrace/background/alertSID.log.
